Today’s puzzle explained
How the board works
The structure is always prefix-oriented – each category describes just the first word and not the whole phrase. The full entries in the incantation set are particularly misleading, leading one to think of jewelry, swearing, hardware and software.
Why the board is deceptive
All sixteen entries are established two-word expressions, so pairing them by topic or by their second words produces several tempting but incomplete patterns.
The decisive move is to isolate each first word and recognize sets involving incantations, animal collectives, repetition, and river anatomy.
Open the clean solving route
One way through the board
Solve the river set first, then separate the animal collective nouns. The remaining eight opening words divide cleanly into incantations and synonyms for repeating or reproducing something.
